I was on pm hotline shift that fateful night…

Calls started coming in ard 7pm. Majority said they saw large number of police and SOC @ whitley rd area and they were checking every car in and out of goldhill ave. Some said there’s human jam @ woodlands checkpoint due to pc breakdown. Others said jam @ tuas checkpoint due to strict checking by police. Got quite a lot of totally unrelated calls as well, eg a man complaining abt his neighbor sitting @ his doorstep for the past 2 wks & some other crazy callers (as usual)…

Immediately called the police for verification but as usual, we had to wait. Called ICA to check abt the checkpoints… Eng desk colleague went down to check things out. She called back ard 8plus saying that police are searching for someone from JI. WAH… BIG NEWS! Ard 8.20pm, we received a release from MHA - the person who escaped from whitley detention centre is the LEADER of Spore JI Network!!!! I immediately translated their statement for release @ 9pm.

Informed boss @ 9++pm who said we shld have send somebody down to file report. *Opps* Just then our Eng colleague returned. Went to understand the situation from her, as well as clarify matters with the police & MHA. Colleague was asked to produce a radio+sot by 10pm.

After everything, I called ICA to check abt the checkpts and realise that all 3 events are linked… There was no breakdown of pc system?! Produced a roundup of sots from public for tom morn.

Near 12mn, I still received a call of attempted suicide and another case of acci from the public. 不会吧？！！！It’s really a happening night!!!

Because we were not @ scene to file live that night, it became another major issue within the dept. Such a serious matter that even caused international concern, yet we were not ard. All colleagues in office that night were asked to 反省。In fact, I already 检讨 and 反省 that very night while talking to my colleague via msn… why din we send someone down? Why din I go down? Everything jus happened so quickly that we din have time to react. But nevertheless, it’s a lesson well-learnt…

新闻工作最有趣的地方在于：每天都有不同的事情在发生，而我们每天都不知道会发生什么事。

挑战就是：如何应对和处理这些事件，在最短的时间内把消息传达出去，让公众知道。

说到主动性，我还需要加强。

今年是个多事之秋，看来习惯安逸的我还得加把劲儿才行！

23 Feb (Sat)

Received a call ard 9+am in the morning when I just woke up. I was told to get to geylang asap cos a grp fighting case had taken place earlier at ard 6am and a man was injured. Ahh… I immediately dashed out of the hse.

When I reached the scene, there were bloodstains on the road but employees from nearby coffeeshops refused to say anything. I learnt from other media frens that this is the norm in geylang since it’s quite a complicated place and pple from the coffeeshops have their biz to take care of. No choice, I tried getting some info from nearby customers and hotline caller and file a report @ 11am when the other media are eating brunch! *unfair*

Later we managed to find someone who act saw the victim @ scene before he’s taken away on ambulance– new info! Just then my colleague called and said the victim died! Now the case became classified as "murder". Faints… Quickly digest the info and prepare to file for 12nn. Aighs… It’s just 10mins away! However I’ve to translate the info gathered for my colleague from Eng News as she needs to get back office with the info. I also passed my recorder with the sots to her so that pple in the office can adapt. Finally I got everything done and hoped onto a cab.

Next destination–Singapore Airshow!

The highlights of the show, which is aerial display, starts @ 1215 and lasts for 1.5hrs. It was kinda rush and the driver told me he’s not too sure abt the directions! ~.~ He decided to call a fren for help but later complained abt his fren meeting him for lunch @ Changi. In fact, he was complaining thruout the journey!!!

Halfway thru, I realised I’ve forgot to take the digital recorder from my colleague! Now I gotta get back to office… aighs… I asked the driver to wait a while for my colleague to bring the recorder for me, then we’ll go to the airshow. However, he hinted that we shld start the journey from MCR as another journey. I pretended not to hear his words and diverted the topic. He did not insist after all. However, he was complaining thruout the whole journey AGAIN! When I reached the destination, it was already quite late and the aerial display was coming to an end. I was quite stressed and the cabbie was still complaining! Grrr… Quickly get off and proceed to do my interviews.

The stunts performed by the Black Knights are quite nice and it was even nicer watching with a big crowd ard u! =) Took some photos of the planes & engines as well!

After completing my interviews, I jostled thru the crowd in search of a pilot bear produced by Singapore Mint.Had wanted to ask my colleague to help me buy that bear when she covered the event earlier. Since I’m assigned to cover this event, I guessed I’m fated to have that bear after all! hehe… =p

Exiting the airshow posed a big problem. There’s soooo much pple that we have to queue to get out! And… the queue is NOT VERY SHORT. Faints… I still need to rush for prime time news… ahhh…The taxi queue was horrible so I decided to take the shuttle bus to pasir ris mrt instead. The queue was horrible too though the freq was still ok. Finally ate my bread (which is spe to be breakfast) on the bus. Sadly I also waited for quite some time @ pasir ris mrt before a cab arrived! Everything seems to be going wrong!!! haiz…Quickly think of the structure of my story on cab since time is running out. Did not get the story out by 6pm after all so it came out @ 7pm. I only grabbed lunch (Happy Meal bought @ Pasir Ris Mac) @ ard 6pm…

It was a long and tiring day! My legs were aching… But it was a fulfilling day as well. After all, I covered 2 assigs and got my pilot bear! hee… Proudly presents: MINTY! =D

It had been a bad day…

Was down with one of the bad flus on Tue & after popping my small yellow tablet, I fell into a deep sleep… (zz before 12mn for the 1st time in many mths!)

It was already 9++am, mum was asking me to take mc and I was struggling to wake up. Finally I dragged myself out of bed and got ready for wk. Was quite nua and today’s assig was in the afternn, so I thought… maybe it’s ok to reach office later since I’ll be leaving later anyway.

What a mistake! While I was waiting for cab (and thinking of whether to see doc 1st then go office), I got an sms from A on some probs with my award submission. Not long after, I received a call from AE asking why I’ve not arrived @ wk. I told the truth, which is I thot I can come in later since I’ll be leaving later. But I was told I gotta informed AE beforehand. My AE nearly "exploded" after hearing my explanation… Opps… Obviously there’s no excuse for being late so I quickly apologised. Was sent out directly to a toto assig in Chong Pang. After that I rushed back to office and pkg the story and rushed out again for my afternn event… Sigh… din even have time for a proper meal…

Afternn assig was kinda tough, the new initiatives are not interesting to Chinese listeners. What is more interesting do not have details. My mind was in a mess and I tried hard to piece the story together. Unfortunately I din succeed in time & din even get the story out by prime time 6/7pm… Ahhh… I haven failed in getting my story out by prime time for a very long time… It was really upsetting and demoralising … :’( Gotta hide in the toilet and calm myself before getting back to wk… haiz… I also dunno what went wrong… Just gotta try harder next time…

Still not over… Before I went home, I saw a "Pls Take Note" email by A:

1) For pm assig, u are not spe to decide ur own wking time, instead u shld confirm with AE beforehand.

2) If u are unable to be on time for wk due to some matters, u must inform AE. This is the basic requirement and courtesy.

3) If you are sick, u must also inform AE beforehand, as well as hand in your mc and apply online.

Haiz… I better make sure I dun make further mistakes and be punctual for wk!

Just when I thot the terrible day is over and went to get a drink before going to bed, I saw a LIZARD popping its head out & staring @ me from the flask…. *AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH* 　

有没有搞错？！？！

What a day!!!!!

某天，大雄如往常般，忘了做作业在学校被老师骂，也如往常般被胖虎、小夫他们欺负。连未来的老婆静香也答应要先嫁给别人。总之，对大雄来讲，生活就是一连串类似的情节……

今天跟昨天没什么两样. 唯一的变化是，哆啦A梦突然变成植物机器猫，无论大雄怎么踢、打、骂，哆啦A梦都没有反应. 大雄不知道哆啦A梦到底发生了什么事？伤心得哭了整晚。 

可是，无论大雄再伤心透顶，哆啦A梦也只是纹风不动地坐在地上，大雄也伸手到口袋里，但口袋也毫无任何动静。 
　　 
然后大雄想起抽屉里的时光飞行机，就穿着睡衣到22世纪去找哆啦A梦的妹妹哆啦美。哆啦美还没完全听完说明，就被大雄催着坐上飞行机飞回20世纪。哆啦美一看哥哥动也不动，马上知道是电池用完了。正想换电池时，哆啦美想起一个非常重大的事 —-

没有备用电源…… 

大雄不懂得其中意思，只在一旁催。哆啦美只好问大雄：你愿意让哥哥跟你的回忆都消失吗？ 

原来，旧型的机器猫的耳朵里，装有备用电源，以便充电时能保持至今为止的记忆。可是……哆啦A梦没有耳朵！（这是众所皆知的吧！被老鼠咬掉了） 
　　 
大雄终于理解了事情的困难。种种回忆在大雄的脑海里奔腾，大雄跟哆啦A梦曾飞到过去、未来，也曾到恐龙世界，海底世界，更在宇宙打过仗…… 哆啦美拼命解释给大雄听。若要装新电池，哆啦A梦醒来时会失去一切与大雄曾有过的回忆。若保持现状，记忆不会消失。 

结果，大雄做出了一个决定: 选择保持现状。此时，大雄还是小学六年级。 
　　 

十几年后…… 

从海外归国的大雄，已成长为英俊迷人的青年，并就职于某家尖端科技的企业。他身边的新娘，正是静香。

当年，哆啦美回到22世纪后，大雄只跟身边的人们说， 哆啦A梦回到未来的世界去了。时日一久，也就没人再提哆啦A梦的事。不过，哆啦A梦其实一直被保管在大雄家的壁橱里。
 
大雄为了修好哆啦A梦，拼命用功读书，然后国中、高中、大学，成绩逐年升腾。最后出国到著名的大学留学。 

现在，大雄身在他自己的研究室中。他叫来平日严禁其出入研究室的妻子静香。对她说："你看好，我要按开关了。"

说完，大雄颊上情不自禁流下两串泪珠。
   
他就是为了这一刻，苦学了十几年…… 为了这一刻，从一个老是忘了做作业、成绩从倒数起算比较快的笨学生，爬到今天的地位……开关按下后，久久一阵静寂，静寂…… 
　　 
终于，哆啦A梦开口了：『大雄，我等你很久了。』 

这是朋友几年前寄给我的感人故事。每次看到结尾，我都忍不住感动落泪。在众人眼中最没出息的大雄，却为了他最亲爱的朋友“小叮当”（我还是喜欢“小叮当”这个名称），努力学习，终于出人头地。这一切都是因为他不希望丧失同小叮当之间美好的回忆。大雄和小叮当之间纯纯的友情，让人非常感动。

小叮当是伴随我成长的卡通片，对它有种特殊情感。不过，真正觉得它超可爱，却是因为一部多年前的港剧《都市的童话》。剧中女主角叮当（朱茵饰）是从男主角（林文龙饰）创造的电子游戏中走出来的，因为男主角老是对她凶巴巴的，于是她买了一只小叮当，请男主角把怨气都发在玩具叮当身上。好可爱哦！可惜，最后的结局是凄美的，叮当终究要回到属于自己的世界…… =’(

因为苏永康，所以约了朋友看《上海之夜》。

特地买了比较贵的票，结果位子还不错。可惜，音乐剧差强人意。看完后，我和朋友都大呼：浪费钱！

苏永康的歌艺在众人中算是最好的，不过也不是太impressive… 听他唱改过歌词的“爱得正好”，稍微有“这才是苏永康”的感觉，不过歌词改得不好，有点怪怪的。还是原版“爱得正好”比较好听！

第一女主角王欣歌艺有待改进，常常会走音。第二女主角唱得比她好多了。整部音乐剧的歌曲不太吸引人。不像一般musical, 组成的歌曲往往能出一张soundtrack,看完《上海之夜》，连一首印象深刻的歌曲都没有。=（

舞台设计也很一般，没什么变化。从头到尾，都是一副“木桥”被吊上吊下，相当碍眼。Band 有别于一般musical, 出现在台上，或许是为了配合上海歌厅的场景。不过，阵容不大，无法感受现场实力和气势。

总的来说，这是一部票价相当贵的低成本制作。其实，同一些朋友比起来，我还蛮舍得花钱看舞台剧和演唱会的。看了这部音乐剧，让我觉得或许是时候省一些钱，投资在其他地方。~.~
